OUR HISTORY
In January 1906, Architect, John McNeece called for tenders for a large hotel at Pingelly, for T. J. Humphries Esquire. It took only 6 months to build this spectacular building and in July 1906, shortly after its opening, the Beverley Times described the Exchange Hotel as "one of the finest buildings in any agricultural town in the state". Mr. W. McIntosh was the first proprietor of the hotel and was also the brother-in-law of T. J. Humphries (they married twin sisters). Tenders for the erection of showrooms and alterations were called in June 1910.
The Stables at the rear were a Cobb & Co staging post for horses on their way from Perth to Albany. The stables still remain.
TODAY
The Exchange Hotel Pingelly embraces the beautiful architecture of this wonderful building but with a modern spin. Today it is a laid-back venue where everyone is welcome.
Situated less than 2 hours from Perth we are a perfect venue to drive out for day trips to have lunch or simply relax and enjoy a beverage or two.
Of course we can also cater for weekends away, celebrations, get togethers, anniversary celebrations, retreats, corporate team building or any other general function.
